E-commerce payment solutions have developed exponentially for consumers in recent years, with multiple technologies allowing fast movement of funds and providing extra layers of security. To keep abreast with the industry and as we start to see clubs go back on sale with season tickets and memberships, the fans financial stability and ability to process payments is a key part in their return to stadiums.
In light of this we’ve been integrating two key payment partners onto both our XR and XT platforms. Klarna and PayPal give fans an additional choice to our existing payment options.
Klarna lets you pay in a way that suits you:
- Pay in 3 equal, interest-free instalments, collected monthly allowing fans to budget more effectively and easily without having to miss out.
- Pay on finance for higher ticket purchases, spread the cost of their ticket in monthly instalments from 6-36 months.*
Convenience without compromise. Let your fans pay later whilst you get paid upfront and in full!
Whilst it’s a new payment technology in the events space it’s tried and tested across retail eCommerce and we’re excited to introduce the successes to our clients.
We saw a 29.5% increase in traffic attributed to Klarna when we were included in their marketing activity and a nice spike in conversions as well. Great stuff!

In addition, another payment partner we’re really pleased to be introducing and probably needs less of an introduction is PayPal. PayPal Commerce Platform is a comprehensive solution designed to help serve the needs of your club and your fans. Purchases can be made with just a fans email address and password, helping with conversions and revenue for your club.
Ticketmaster Sport Clients
A few of our clients have already taken the opportunity to integrate the two partners and had some feedback on why they’ve decided to do so:
Offering our supporters the option to use Klarna and PayPal on our ticketing site will be really beneficial especially in the time of the ‘new normal’ that we are now in.
Chris Brewer, Head of Media & Ticketing
Our supporters will have the ability to spread the cost of higher price items such as Season Tickets interest-free and with no credit checks with Klarna and the option of a faster and more streamlined checkout using PayPal.
We are always looking for ways to improve our supporters online ticketing experience and these integrations help us massively in our goal.
